*FALLING FROM GRACE*
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Galatians 5:4(KJV).
Good morning dearly beloved, today's devotional charge is titled falling from grace. One of the statement of apostle Paul which always put me in check is frustrating the grace of God which God extended to me. One of my preaching on grace is that grace is not designed for the sinners, grace is designed for the mature believers in Christ, Because if a mature believer fall into sin, he quickly ask for forgiveness of sins, but for a sinners who keep committing sins and who has not for ones confess the lord Jesus as his saviour, cannot operate in grace. Although it was through grace we are saved and not of ourself(Eph 2:8), nevertheless a sinner cannot continue in grace and pray that grace be abound, Romans 6:1 says God forbid. Therefore, I ask, is it possible for a believer to fall out of grace, my answer is yes, once a believer is not careful about his life style, the same question on salvation, is it possible for a believer to loss his salvation, that is, the eternal security of a believer, to all, there is every tendency to fall out of Gods grace. If one does not work his salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12-13), From the verse above (Gal 5:4), falling from grace is one of those warning Paul pointed out those who reject the doctrine of the eternal security of the believer. But because of the biblical doctrine of the perseverance of the saints, we know the warnings cannot be directed at true believers in Christ because once grace has been obtained, believers cannot fall from it. In this context, Paul’s warning is against mixing the law and the Gospel to attain justification. He says to those who let themselves be circumcised(Gal 5:2) that they are trying to be justified by law and have therefore been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. It should be noted that there is no mention of salvation or the security of the believer. He is telling those who receive circumcision in other words attempt to justify themselves through the rites and rules of the Law that Christ will be of no benefit to them. Therefore if any man returns to the system of Keeping the law and meritorious deeds even after been saved he is alienated from Christ. He is cut off from the grace of God, that is he is lost. (Rom 5:1-2, 11:6 Heb 12:15). Grace is not a license to be held bound in sins. Those who would turn the law of Christ into a legal system of justification are under such condemnations. Therefore, it is expedient that we embrace the finished works of grace which Christ achieved for us on the cross. Which will become a basis for us to be saved through his grace. I pray for you, you will never fall out of grace, grace will always be available for you in Jesus name amen. Shalom.i
