Young Nigerians across the country have been on the streets demanding that the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) be disbanded, amongst other things. Their voices have been heard the world over, and the government has promised (yet again) to dissolve the unit and reform the police. I spoke to young protesters at the gate of the state house of assembly on the 12th of October 2020, and also to a few random people elsewhere in Jos concerning the issue. Panels have been set up across the country, in various states, to look into allegations of abuse raised by the public, and are expected to conclude hearings in half a year.
