Wednesday, May 11, 6pm edt: Mitchell’s guest this evening is Buddha Maitreya the Christ, said to be the American-born reincarnation of the Avatar. Born in Oregon in 1951, he was enthroned and given ceremonies of recognition within all the major Tibetan Buddhist lineages. The process of his recognition began when he was 9 years old.
For over 20 years, Buddha Maitreya has supported the practical daily needs of monks and nuns in Tibet, India and Nepal. Restoring sacred sites. Rebuilding monasteries in Tibet and providing new prayer halls in India. He offers free clinics and treatments centers in Nepal to provide basic medical services to those most in need. Due to the recent earthquake in Nepal, Buddha-Maitreya’s organization is raising money to assist in the effort to help the thousands of people who have been displaced.
In 2006, together with his wife, Mandarava Tara, he founded the Buddha Maitreya Shambhala Vajradhara Monastery in Lake County, California. A Planetary Healing & Wellness Center
