It's no secret that our postpartum aftercare has something left to be desired: add to the mix the abysmal ways we treat folks who have undergone a cesarean section and it's like "HOW IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?"
If anything, postpartum folks get told to rub some vitamin E on their scar...and that's about it. We are led to believe that we can go back to doing all the things 6 weeks post-op: but is this really sound advice? Why do we learn how to navigate our bodies after orthopedic surgeries (think ACL tear) and not a c-section?
And if you do undergo a c-section, your pelvic floor should be spared, right?
Not necessarily.
Today we are talking all about aftercare for your c-section, whether you're 2 weeks or 20 years out, as well as other ways to care for your body after having this surgery. Cuz despite what you've been led to believe, what you went through was anything but "easy."
