When Abram and Lot parted company we see a picture into the life of righteousness, peace and joy in contrast with the life of choosing what looks like something good, but leads to chaos and destruction. Lot chose a place that appealed to his senses while Abram dwelled in Canaan (the promised land). Sometimes the Kingdom life looks that allowing those you love to make choices that you can't make for them.
