Chris Accardo discusses sex and sexuality in Buddhism, and how Western Buddhists navigate coming from traditions emphasizing celibacy with our own understandings of how sex can not only be a healthy part of our lives, but yet another dimension for our practice. Our practice around sex moves away from forbidding specific sexual actions to understanding egoic narratives we construct around our sexuality. The concern isn’t removing or controlling our sexuality, but truly seeing it as it is so we can recognize it as a part of us...but like everything else, understanding that it’s just one piece of who we are.
