Description

Jesus shared a lot of parables during his ministry, and he made it clear that they had a twofold purpose 1. The multitude of people we will now call the masses who are hearing would not understand and 2. Somehow his disciples would always get an object lesson of truth. He even tells his disciples that it was given for them to know. "All these things speak Jesus unto the multitude in parables and without a parable spoke he not unto them that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet saying I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world." (Matthew 13:34,35) paraphrased

After sending the multitude away Jesus explained to his disciples the parable of the tares: "He that sow the good seed is the Son of man, the field is the world, the good seeds are the children of the kingdom, but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that's sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the Angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire so shall it be in the end of this world. The son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather of his kingdom all things that offend and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of Fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father. Who hath ears to hear let him hear." (Matthew 13:37 - 43)
