In 1923 following a romantic disappointment, Latvian immigrant Edward Leedskalnin started building a huge rock garden in Florida. He would carry on building this structure for the best part of 30 years, at one point even transporting his creation 10 miles away to a new site when plans for a new sub-division emerged in his neighbourhood. But how did a diminutive man who stood only five feet tall in his socks move and manipulate over a thousand tons of fossilised coral on his own?
