Organizations talk a lot about change (commonly referred to as "change management"), but we'd argue that the everyday employee doesn't really know how to manage lots of change (let alone thrive in it). Often, professionals are flat-footed during times of change and/or miss-out on opportunities for impact because they are not in-front of new ways of doing business.
