Well, that's a big no-no! Updating your resume to tell your Professional Story in a different way is crucial if you are looking to make a big professional change. Recruiters and Hiring Managers don't know where you want to go (or why), so the resume is one way to TELL them what you're looking to accomplish in this new world and why you'd make a great fit for their organization.
This is tough work. It's a ton of art and a little science too.
