This story, told by Shay, beautifully outlines the devastation FTD (or Pick's disease, as she refers to it) causes. Shay was in elementary school when her sweet mom, Mrs. Hast began to exhibit symptoms. The journey is full of tenderness and pain and Shay so eloquently describes the dance between the two.
The story unfolds but the rawness continues. Shay takes us through darkness and hurt but also shares such a beautiful relationship she had with her mother. Mrs. Hast won our hearts and so has her sweet daughter, Shay.
We are excited to share our first story of our new season - as we feel deeply connected to all its parts. Thanks for your openness, Shay.
