Teaching how to play games is a passion that has influenced me greatly, after playing 40+ year their is nothing more amazing than sharing the history of this game we call Dungeons and Dragons. This will be a read aloud series of Volume 1 thru 3 of Gary Gyax and Dave Arneson of the 1973 published Dungeons and Dragons Series. Volume 1 is Men and Magic, Volume 2 Monster and Treasure and Volume 3 The Underworld and Wilderness Adventures.
The purpose of this series is to look at, discuss and review how and what was written not only influenced the game at its origin. It also allows us to look at generational play through a time lens. Currently playing 5e Dungeons and Dragons it felt natural to revisit its origins and see how it all started to help guide me on some projects that are now being worked on.
This is not meant to be a social conversation about the nuisances some already well stated about lack of inclusion, diversity and male centric intent. This is well known and understood. I do not hold to these exclusions. The best table is an integrated table focused on fun.
