This week at The Film Club we’re kicking off the month of November with a favorite theme of ours, Newvember! Today’s episode is all about the 1997 comedy The Pest. The film follows a con artist named Pest Vargas who owes $50,000 to the Scottish Mob and must pay the mob by the end of the day. Pest decides to swindle tourists on the boardwalk in the hopes of making enough money to pay off his debt, meanwhile a wealthy German Hunter named Gustav Shank is also on the boardwalk in search of a new trophy to add to his collection of human prey. Pest is accidentally selected to be hunted by Gustav but Pest whole heartedly accepts the challenge when he learns if he survives he’ll win a $50,000 reward, which he desperately needs to pay off the Scottish Mob.
