Happy December! This week at The Film Club we’re kicking off the final month of the year with a franchise, we’re talking about The Twilight Saga! We’re also being joined by a special guest for the entire month cousin of the podcast Yasmin! The first film in the franchise we’re focusing on is Twilight. The film follows 17 year old Bella Swan who is moving from her newly married mother’s home in Arizona, to the perpetually rainy town of Forks, Washington to live with her Chief of Police dad Charlie Swan. Bella is happy for her mom’s new marriage but is trying to come to terms with the small town that is her new home. On her first day of school Bella is the center of attention and is desperately trying to fade into the woodwork, some of her new classmates befriend her immediately however and begin to show her what Forks High is like. During her first lunch at school she notices a group of students who are not like the rest, when she inquires about them she learns they are the Cullen family and they don’t mingle with the rest of the students. One Cullen in particular catches her attention, his name is Edward Cullen and Bella has no idea that her new small town life is about to be invaded by vampires.
