This week at The Film Club we’re back with our guest of the month/cousin of the podcast Yasmin and we’re talking about New Moon! New Moon is the next installment in The Twilight Saga and follows Bella on her 18th birthday, with Edward eternally 17 Bella begins to worry about aging and not spending forever with Edward. Alice Cullen throws Bella a birthday party at the Cullen home, the party is going nicely until Bella gets a paper cut while opening up her presents. The Cullen’s attempt to restrain themselves from the smell of Bella’s blood but Jasper however can’t resist and lunges for Bella, Edward protects Bella but ends up injuring her. Filled with guilt and fear Edward the next day breaks up with Bella and leaves Forks with his family. The breakup sends Bella into a deep depression and after months of anguish Bella starts to come to life again when she begins to spend time with her friend Jacob Black. Jacob who is loving spending time with Bella can’t help from living in fear of things that are happening on the Reservation he lives on, his friends are changing and following around an older teen named Sam Uley. Jacob wants more than just a friendship with Bella but she just can’t let go of Edward which ultimately pushes Jacob away, when Bella finally reunites with Jacob he’s changed and is hanging out with Sam Uley.
