Description

According to the Center  for American Progress at least one and four American children and adolescence will experience some sort of adversity during the course of their lifetime Which undoubtedly increases with age. It more than doubles in infants  younger than one this stands at approximately 5% and for children older than two it comes in at roughly 11%.  Jack Sernett  is a keynote speaker, personal trainer, and mental health coach based out of Kansas City, Missouri. Jack has been able to overcome and grow from many different obstacles throughout his life. He truly believes these obstacles have been put in his life so he can learn how to “grow” instead of “go” through adversity. And now, it is his life’s work to teach as many people as possible how to achieve post-traumatic growth and self-love. Growing up in Kansas City, Jack thrived both academically and athletically. He was a straight-A student and 1st Team All-State athlete in high school. After high school, Jack went on to attend San Diego State University in the honors program. During his college years, Jack spent time as a competitive CrossFit athlete and later began his speaking and coaching career. However, in late 2017 all of that was put on hold, and he would spend the better part of the next 3 years in the hospital battling a chronic illness. Eventually, Jack returned to Kansas City and began working full-time again as a keynote speaker, personal trainer, and mental health coach.  He joined me this week to tell me more.
