Businesses and CEOs have a pivotal new role to play in rebuilding public trust in information and bridging the United States' growing partisan divide. According to the latest Edelman Trust Barometer update, 61% of people surveyed expressed trust in businesses — significantly higher than the number who trusted governments or the media. Trust in governments worldwide dropped to 53%, after seeing an 11-point surge in May during the coronavirus pandemic. John Collins is on a mission to help organizations, teams and people restore public trust. He’s an executive leadership coach, facilitator, and author based in Southfield, Michigan. He specializes in working with people, teams, and organizations in positions of public trust - clients who impact our quality of life.
John started his private practice in 2013 after retiring his award-winning, 20-year career in forensic science, authoring four books, including his newest work, The New Superior. As a facilitator, John’s range of experience is unmatched, having facilitated highly sensitive domestic and international meetings on behalf of the United States Government.
John’s career highlights include his part in the forensic investigation of the Atlanta serial bombings, which included the bombing of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta (for which he received a commendation from the Department of the Treasury), as well as his 2013 participation in a historic meeting with Attorney General Eric Holder and other experts to discuss solutions to gun crime following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
John is the host of the monthly Critical Victories webcast in which he explores the relationship between leadership and public trust through the lens of current events.
John has a master’s degree in Organizational Management and is formally certified as a senior HR professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
