As the Executive Director of Full Court Peace, Mike Evans has traveled the world using basketball as means of uniting disparate communities. Through 47 trips to Havana, scores of visits to Native communities in Wyoming or in bulletproof cars into Juárez, Mexico, Mike has seen how the game can transform communities and individuals. He's brought it all home now, working to bring together kids from diverse communities in the northeast, where income gaps often keep kids from interacting across socioeconomic lines. The goal of the (501c3 non-profit) unites communities and cultures through basketball in the US and around the world. He joined me this week to tell me more.
