Seth Hippen has spent his career working in character animation for some big-name studios, including Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers, and Big Sky Studios. In this episode, Seth explains the difference between 2D and 3D animation, why specializing is important, and the names of some of his favorite projects, including movies and video games. We’ll discuss his experience in BYU’s animation program, which included an internship on The Simpsons that he found himself. With 20+ years of experience in the business, Seth talks candidly about the pros and cons of moving from studio work to freelancing and how Covid might provide a silver lining for the industry.
