In this episode I talk with Heidi Reynaud, a crime scene investigator and supervisor with Unified Police in Salt Lake City, UT. Heidi goes to all major crime scenes in the area and manages a team of investigators. But as a young mom with 2 kids, she started out as a 911 dispatcher, gradually finding her way into this career with a job in the evidence room, working as an investigator for the medical examiner and an internship in forensics. Now with many years experience, Heidi shares how a crime scene is processed, the tools used to collect and analyze evidence, and how she deals with the tough side of her job.
