Description

This week we are in Acts 24 where Paul gives a defense before Felix the Governor. The sequence of events is fascinating and heartbreaking. Here’s the story: Felix listens to Paul speak publicly and is intrigued and gracious; then, he seeks a conversation with Paul privately where he is afraid and offended. From this point on, Felix decides he will call for Paul when it is convenient for him. After two years, Felix hears the message, but never decides to surrender to Jesus.

In a western world designed for comfort and ease, this story serves as a warning for all of us: the message of Jesus, and the person of Jesus is not, nor has ever been convenient. As strong as this sounds, it’s actually good news.
