I hope you are doing well as we enter August. This summer has been amazing for our church, and I hope you can say the same!
We will be in Hebrews Chapter 4 this week. So far the author of Hebrews had told us Jesus is greater than the prophets, he’s greater than the angels, he is God become flesh, he is greater than Moses, he is the true and better Exodus, and now we learn he is the true and better Sabbath.
This idea of Sabbath Rest is woven together in the Gospel story, the Exodus story, and the creation story. Our pace of life can make us tired, weary, and exhausted. In it’s worst form, we start to believe we are what we do. I look forward to exploring this invitation to rest together.
