Hello Grace Church, we hope you are well! Last week in Ephesians 1 we saw Paul pray that we would know God more deeply — that our hearts would be opened to His wisdom, His hope, and His power. This Sunday we move into Ephesians 2:1–10, and Paul takes us back to remember what life was like before Jesus. He doesn’t soften the language — we were spiritually dead, following the ways of the world, and under God’s just wrath. But then come two of the best words in the Bible: “But God…”Because of His great love and rich mercy, He made us alive with Christ. Salvation isn’t something we earned — it’s a gift of grace from beginning to end. And He didn’t just save us from something, He saved us for something — to walk in the good works He prepared in advance for us to do.My prayer is that as we sit with this passage, we’ll be freshly amazed at God’s grace and eager to live in the new life He’s given us.
