Hello Grace Church, this Sunday we will continue looking at the 7 “I AM” statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Two weeks ago, Jesus fed the crowd bread then said I am the bread of life, the only place to find satisfaction.
Last week, Jesus healed a man born blind then said I am the light of the world, the place for visibility in the darkness. As we move through John’s Gospel, the claims of Christ will get stronger and stronger.
This Sunday may be the least well-known of the 7 statements, but it is no less important and profound. In John 10, Jesus says,”I am the Door.” In a world of personalized spirituality and religious pluralism, Jesus tells us plainly who He is and what He offers.
I pray this Sunday that the Gospel pierces the heart of believers and unbelievers alike as we receive the invitation to walk through the door to salvation, security, and abundance.
