These scriptures connect the Ark of the Covenant—God’s tangible presence and promise in the Old Testament—with the New Jerusalem, His eternal dwelling place among His people. In 2 Samuel 6 and Exodus 25, the Ark symbolizes reverence, holiness, and covenant relationship; in Revelation’s vision of the New Jerusalem, that same divine presence is made permanent. Together, they reveal God’s desire to dwell with humanity—from the Ark’s mercy seat to the eternal city of light.
