The much-quoted linguist Noam Chomsky said, “We shouldn’t be looking for heroes, we should be looking for good ideas.”
Yet in the age of individualism, we have often confused good ideas with a search for a hero. This ego festival has created saviour complexes that have become so pernicious they have derailed the most well-intentioned plans.
