Today is a special day…
2 years ago, on this very day, I was wrapping up my last day of a 10+ year career at my 9-5 job.
It was a small team (only 3 of us at the time) and you know what I remember most about that day?
I remember it was particularly unspectacular.
No good-bye lunch.
No party planning committee.
No ice cream cake.
No fan-fare.
No, in fact I don’t even remember getting so much as a good-bye from the other team members.
It was remarkably unremarkable.
I don’t remember a lot more from that day, to be honest. It had been a long month transitioning out of the job and preparing for a brand new venture.
It’s cold in January in Colorado (thank you Captain Obvious!) but I remember the sun on my face as I strolled to my car. I dropped my bag in the trunk of my ‘04 Maxima and headed home; a cocktail of excitement, adrenaline, fear and uncertainty swirling in my stomach.

That was the beginning of the roller coaster entrepreneurial journey.
And, today we celebrate.
