Description

Shikirah, Byron, and Joseph engaged in a conversation about their experiences as black individuals in corporate America, especially during Black History Month. They shared their struggles and triumphs, including standing out while also fitting into silos, the decreasing number of black individuals as they climb the corporate ladder, and the pressure to conform to Eurocentric standards of professionalism. Byron shared his positive experience of being able to bring his full self to his role, while Shikirah emphasized the importance of explaining and normalizing their cultural differences to others.
