DJ Neil Armstrong is global dj and founding member of the legendary 5th Platoon turntablist crew. He is a producer, a global ambassador for Adidas, an event organizer, a former tour DJ for Jay-Z, and most recently a new(ish) resident of Tokyo
We caught up with Neil to talk about everything from growing up in NY to getting his name while hanging out at Fat Beats. Him being taught the art of turntablism by Dj Mista Sinista and Dj Total Eclipse of the X-Men, battling in highly competitive turntablists scene of the 90s and early 00s, touring with Jay-Z, his Filipino roots, and his thoughts on the current state of turntablism.
