Description
Jazz man Glend David Andrews was born and raised in New Orleans and grew up hearing stories from older musicians about the music in Storyville and the South Rampart neighborhoods. Now you can walk with him and hear these same stories as he takes you on a trip back to those heady decades between 1890 and 1920, when jazz was in its infancy.
Between the red-light district of Storyville, and South Rampart, Glen knows this neighborhood's secrets, and where to find all the ghosts of its musical past. You'll see one of the last existing structures that was a famous New Orleans whorehouse, see where Louis Armstrong won his first talent show, and hear how jazz evolved out of a handful of different influences thanks to the wildness of the neighborhood. Perk up your ears and listen, you might just dance your way through Storyville.
