His&Hers is a podcast about marriage and exploring the power of perspective. On His&Hers, I invite phenomenal guests to talk about marriage, overcoming challenges and sometimes to share expert advice so that we can all learn from them. We talk about how to connect with ourselves which helps us to better connect with our spouses. Yay!! Alhamdulillah!! Season 2 is all about speaking to divorced women about their marriage stories and marriage lessons. These women are absolutely phenomenal in their introspection and generosity as they share their wisdoms so freely yet vulnerably. 💛💛💛💛💛 My guest in this episode is Aneeqah Moosa. Aneeqah is 37. She got married at the age of 19. She was married for 17 years. She has four kids: 15, 14, 12 and 7. She considers herself a person with strong family values which include, honesty, integrity, being authentic, standing up for injustices and being connected to her Creator, all of which was a struggle in her marriage... hence the deterioation (as she put it) coupled with a toxic marriage - a topic which she has consequently done in-depth research on in order to understand it and so that it doesn't have a lasting effect on her kids.
As a married woman then and a single mom now, these values are still what she endeavours to instil in her family and within a relationship with a future partner. The only addition to the above mentioned, and such an important one, is CONSCIOUSNESS.
