In this episode Adam has a conversation with Payton Lynch about her book she just released about the amazing stories and resilience of children who's parents died in the tragic 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers in New York City. Paytons husband is one of those survivors and so this project was very personal for Payton.
About Payton Lynch:
As a child and young adult, Disney’s storytelling has been an important part of Payton's life, teaching her how to engage audiences. In her career, she tells stories through the magic of Guest engagement as a Product Manager at The Walt Disney Company.
Payton has been crafting stories for as long as she can remember, so, after completing her MBA at FIT in 2020, she decided to take the plunge and dedicate herself to writing her first book. The book has the working title, Rise From the Ashes, and explores themes from 9/11's Surviving Children on finding triumph in the face of tragedy.
Payton's first book is inspired by her husband and his story as a 9/11 Surviving Child. His story is one of 3,000 stories (not including the 2,000 adult-age people who lost a parent that day and the countless others who have gone on to lose a parent due to 9/11 illnesses) that need to be told. Payton is grateful to her husband Jon and the many others she has interviewed thus far who have been so willing to share.
Together, Payton and Jon share a home in Orlando, Florida. They love traveling the world together, whether it be by airstream or airplane.
