Sermon Theme: God Desires Mercy Over Sacrifice
The Pharisees focused on the law, and missed the Gospel. As a result their priorities were out of order. Here Jesus defends the innocent, and rebukes the legalistic Pharisees. Jesus, teach us to be Gospel forward, not law focused.
