Receiving God`s Leading
Everyone is looking for direction, constantly seeks for direction.
Something that is impossible to avoid
We are all product of influence because we are influenceable.
Man naturally looks for influences, for advice, for direction, which means man will always looks for direction among their selves.
There is a high propensity of error when we go to a fellow man to look for direction.
Because they are given us advice based on what they have learn, studied or what they have heard. Therefore, there is a limit to their knowledge.
Jeremiah 10:23: 23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
As a believer our first point of action in seeking for direction shouldn’t be our fellow man, rather the one who can see the future.
For the advice of man is not reliable and always changing, but God’s direction never changes. When face with difficult situation, the first point of action shouldn’t be man.
Receiving God`s Leading
When looking for direction, influences, don’t always look for the speculate. In 1 Kings 19:11-13 we see that we shouldn’t cease or search for the speculate for we will often time missed the supernatural. For God also speaks in the simpleness. God speaks to everyone despite their situation. We are all entitle to God’s leading, irrespective of your circumstances. The problem is we often don’t know how to receive it.
How do we receive this leading?
Every believer is entitled to God’s leading as writing in Romans 8:14-17. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
we see that we as believers are brought by the Spirit of God to God.
There is a carrying that is done by the Spirit of God.
There is no doubt that we are sons of God, for it is His Love that made us the Sons of God as writing in 1 John 3:1. Hence, believers are being led always by the Spirit of God.
Now, how are we being led by His Spirit?
Romans 8:16, 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: “beareth witness with” means to jointly testified about something. There was a joint endorsement by the Spirit of God concerning that we are sons of God. It shows that direction comes from the inside.
The Spirit beareth witness with our Spirit, within the believers.
The being led by the Spirit is an internal activity that happens within the believers.
For the Spirit is forever within the believer as writing in Hebrews 13:5
The Holy Spirit is present in us forever.
