WORK-OUT Not WORK-FOR

Many people look for salvation elsewhere.

Even believers don’t understand the concept of Salvation.

What does salvation mean? Can every Christian, believer answer that question?

We have divided opinions:

Once save for ever save or work out your own salvation

The Scripture says: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

What does it mean to work out your own salvation?

Do I have to still make myself worthy and acceptable before God?

Was the finished work of Christ not enough for me to be save?

What are the works which I have to do to obtain or maintain my salvation.

The word salvation means to rescue someone from something.

What were we rescue from?

We were rescue from destruction; we were saved from the consequences of our sins.

Therefore, we have now obtained Eternal Life

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit within us

The power of the Holy Spirit within us

We can now identify ourselves with the Father through the Son

Now, do we have to work out our own salvation?

Is salvation not a free gift from God?

Paul clearly writes: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Being saved is something you do not have to work for. We play no part in salvation. It is what Jesus came for. Even the act of believing is also a gift. In the times of the Pharisees, they search the scriptures looking for eternal life while the eternal life was living among them. They were fully blinded by their religious acts, law, keeping the sabbath Holy.

No knowing that the bread of life was the Sabbath. For he came not to abolish the Law but to fulfilled it. He was the law and the fulfilment of that Law.

Jesus Christ made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, Jesus Christ humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Was that sacrifice not enough for us to be saved once and for all. As it is written those who believe in Him will have eternal life. It was not written those who are working out their own salvation will have eternal life.

Working out your own salvation simply means to grow more in the knowledge of Who God has made you to be.

To know what you have been rescued from and what are the free gift of salvation.

To know the power of the Holy Spirit within you.

To know God’s voice and His leading.
