In 2013, shortly after being called to the Manitoba Bar, Rana was elected Leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party - The party's first female minority leader and its youngest. Rana is no longer partisan, but she continues to advocate for women's rights, intersectional feminism and the First Nations community.
