In John 7, all of Jewish people have converged in Jerusalem for the fall feast: the Feast of Tabernacles. This jubilant celebration was one of the most joyous times in Jewish year. And it is here, in the midst of this elation, that Jesus stands up for all to hear and makes a bold claim. It’s one we heard Him make in a private conversation at a well in Samaria; now He proclaims it for all to hear: He is the source of Living Water. He shows them how this feast is picture of Him, their Messiah.
