While Hebrews 1 focuses heavily on Jesus as Fully God, in the second chapter He establishes Jesus as Fully Man. And not just any man: one who suffered yet was perfect. And it was His sacrifice as our High Priest that was necessary to satisfy the wrath of God, forever defeating not only death, but the one who holds the power of death. As a result, we no longer are slaves to fear and sin. As the author of Hebrews reminds us: this is a message for every day. Not just a decision we make one day to follow Jesus, but we must continually remember.
