The question I would like to discuss with you today is “How to avoid having unhealthy assumptions towards others?” Before we go on to the discussion, I would like to call out the fact that the word assumptions are widely deemed to have a negative stigma that comes with it. So, does it really? No, I don't think so. Assumptions are normal - in some way, it can be seen as one of humans survival mechanisms. For humans, knowledge is power. Assumptions happen during a lack of knowledge, simply our body's mechanism to create the illusion of power. So, assumptions are good. Unhealthy assumptions, are not. When our assumptions bring a mostly negative impact to our lives, or get in the way of a good relationship, then it might be a good time to make a change. After all, assumptions are supposed to help you survive, not killing you instead.
