Description

The question I would like to discuss with you today is "Can I ask my parents to be less involved?” Let's face it, no matter how old and independent we are, parents will always see us as their child who knows less than them and needs to be protected. In most circumstances, they want to be involved in our life. And it is becoming more and more common. A study by Fingerman in 2017 shows that parents are considerably more involved with their grown children aged 18–34 than it was the case 40 years ago. Moreover, parents engage in more frequent contact, give more support, and are more likely to live with a grown child.
