Description

In this podcast episode, I get the chance to talk about the thought-leading & positive work that EPIC group is doing in the world of garment manufacturing and sustainability with the incredible Ranjan Mahtani!

Born and raised in Mumbai, India. At the age of 16, he started “cutting his teeth” in the garment industry, working as an intern at a garment export company in 1980, and was already learning the business in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In 1983, he started EPIC Group, as a small buying office in Bangladesh, an emerging country where he saw an opportunity for huge growth to become a global apparel industry powerhouse. From his modest vision of attaining $ 100k in revenues within a four-year horizon, Ranjan grew the business to where it is today, four decades later, producing over 120 million pieces of the garment a year and employing over 30,000 people in Bangladesh, making EPIC one of the largest apparel manufacturers in the world. In 1997, EPIC set up its global headquarters in Hong Kong.
