Today, Monday October 26 - Have you ever prayed for patience?  Most of us have, not knowing, that when we prayed that prayer we are actually asking for trials and tribulation.  James 1:2-4  "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."  James begins his letter to the Jewish believers, who have been scattered abroad to other countries, by telling them to understand the real purpose behind persecution and difficult circumstances.  "Count it all joy...." That's a very difficult thing to do if you are suffering and being treated badly, especially as a stranger in a foreign land, where you are being forced to live as a alien, unwanted immigrant. When we look at the circumstances that are causing us to suffer pain and loss, they can overwhelm us, trouble us, discourage us and make us want to give up!  But when we look to God and His purpose for the suffering, knowing He is using this trial to test my faith and produce patience in my life, we can experience His joy!  God loves me and is always working in my life for my good and for His glory.  The Psalmist reminds us of this in Psalm 138:8 "The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands."  Whatever you are facing today, please keep this in mind!  God bless!
