Today, Wednesday October 28 - The last verse in 1 Corinthians 13 concludes the great "love chapter" of the Bible with these words: "Now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love." But the first of "these three" appears to be "faith." Love, as described in this chapter, is the visible proof or evidence that you have a genuine faith. Hebrews is the great "Faith book" of the Bible, teaching us the importance of faith in Jesus, Who is the author and finisher of our faith. In Hebrews 11, we have God's "Hall of Faith" were we meet people who pleased God with their faith. As God has it, as the author of the Bible, He placed the book of James to follow the book of Hebrews. James speaks much about how faith plays a important role in living out our faith as we face the trials and challenges of life on a daily basis. So James begins the book talking about the testing of our faith that produces patience in verses 3 and 4. And about the need of faith in asking God for wisdom in verses 5 through 8. I pray today that you will receive God's grace to live out a joyful life of faith as you go through your day! God bless!
