Today, Friday November 13 - James 1:22-27 This passage warns us of the danger of self-deception because we do not practice God's Word in our everyday living. One of the first things most of us do every morning when we get up, is look into a mirror. We don't look to see how fantastic we look when we just got our of bed. No we look to see what needs to be fixed and taken care of, before we go out and others see us. The mirror reflects the actual, real condition of our outward appearance! God's Word is like a mirror. When we look into it, the inward condition of our heart is revealed to us. We can make the misstates of just glancing casually at the Word. Or we can look and immediately forget what we just saw. Or third, we can go on without doing anything to correct the sins the Word revealed in our heart and lives. A good prayer to pray each day as we take the time to look into the Mirror of God's Word is Psalm 139:23-24 "Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" God bless, have a great day!
