Today, Thursday November 12 - James 1:22-27 - If we are not careful, we can easily begin to deceive ourselves into thinking that we are spiritual when we are not. Just because we read our Bibles, memorize Scripture, go to Sunday School and church, talk about the Bible and spiritual things, not engage in activities that are considered inappropriate for a follower of Jesus, does not mean that we are "Spiritual." And by the way, I've always thought and said, "Spirituality is not a destination, but a journey." I can remember saying in a message years ago, "The most spiritual person here today, is not the one who read the Bible through this month, memorize a chapter this past week, told ten people how to become a believer this week, but the most spiritual person here might be the one, who last week, said five cuss words and this week only said two." Why would I say that? Because real spirituality and spiritual maturity is going in the right direction and making progress each day in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ! Today, please join me on this most exciting journey as we study this passage from James 1. God bless!
