Today, Tuesday November 17 - James 2 - We are going to begin looking at the next chapter in James today. Remember the theme and purpose for the Book of James is to encourage the believer to grow to Spiritual maturity! In chapter 1 we find that the mature Christian is patient in testing and temptations. Now, in chapter 2, we will study how the mature believer will also practice the truth! Immature people talk about their beliefs, but the mature person lives his faith. Hearing God's Word, (Chapter 1) and talking God's Word can never substitute for doing God's Word! (James 2:1) "My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality." The literal translation of this is: "My brothers, don't hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, by showing favoritism". The church, which is the body of Jesus Christ, is meant to be a reflection of the very person of Christ. We are to display His love! We are His hands, His feet, His eyes, His ears, His voice, His mercy, His grace in a world that is looking for reality and peace! But the sad thing is that, many churches are nothing more than social cliques! Well, that's where James starts in this chapter! We should all look into our hearts today and ask the Lord to help us see others the way Jesus sees them! God bless!
