Today, November 4 - James is writing his letter to believers who are displaced and are living in foreign countries. As believers today, we are somewhat displaced, and we are pilgrims on earth traveling to our final home that is heaven. But while we are here, we have a responsibility to live in a way that reflects that we truly are children of God. As we study this wonderful letter from James we can't help but notices that the theme of the book is dealing with the spiritual immaturity of the believers. Like little children they were impatient in difficulties (1:1-4); they were talking but not living the truth (2:14); they had no control over the tongue (3:1); they were fighting and coveting (4:1); and they were collecting material "toys" (5:1). Sounds a lot like what is going on in our churches today! May the Lord help us to grow into mature believers, who are balanced and and living like grown ups in our attitudes and actions! God bless!
