Description

Today, November 5 - James 1:16-17 "Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."  One of the great deceptions that the devil uses to entice us to yield to a temptation, is that God is not good and does not love and care for us, otherwise, we would not going through this suffering or have this need in our lives. Satan always wants us to take a shortcut that seems to lead down an easier path.  Knowing and understanding the goodness of God is a great barrier against yielding to temptation.  Since God is good, we do not need any other person (including Satan) to meet our needs.  Once we start to doubt God's goodness, we will be attracted to Satan's offers; and the natural desires within will reach out for his bait.  So, in this passage, James presents four facts about the goodness of God.  1. God gives only good gifts. 2. The way God gives is good.  3. God gives constantly. 4. God does not change.  This means that we should never question His love or doubt His goodness when difficulties come or temptations appear.  God bless!
