Today, Saturday August 1 - Worshiping and Praise God as Jehovah-Jireh - There are two key words to remember as we learn to recognized the wonderful work and grace of God in this beautiful name - Sacrifice and Substitute! In Genesis 22 God provided a substitute sacrifice for Abraham to offer instead of his son Issac. Somehow by faith, Abraham was able to look forward to see the future reality of God providing His Son, Jesus Christ, as the substitute sacrifice for his sins. "Abraham rejoiced that he would see My day and he saw it and was glad." (John 8:56) Today, we can look back and see this substitute sacrifice in the person and work of Jesus Christ on the Cross two thousand years ago! And we can be saved!!!!!
