Today, Tuesday August 18 - Jehovah-Nissi, The LORD is our Banner! Jesus said, "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation, for the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41) Discouragement often comes upon us after we have yielded to a temptation. Jesus had spoken these words to His three inter-circle disciples, Peter, James and John, while in the Garden of Gesememe just before He was taken to be tried and crucified. Instead of praying, Peter slept and when the temptation came, he failed miserably. You know the story. And as result he became very discourage. But Jesus would take the time to restore Peter personally by the Sea of Galilee a few days after His resurrection. Peter would submit to the authority of Jesus and come under His Banner and God greatly used him to preach and lead the early church. Today, remember that restoration is only a prayer away as we yield ourselves to the authority of Jesus Christ! One of the last statements of Jesus before He ascended into heaven was, "All authority is given to Me in heaven and on earth... and behold, I am with you until the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20) Jesus is Jehovah-Nissi and He will fight your battles for you as you submit to His authority! God bless!
